A bright, sunny morning, a regular day at work, on his platform, hundreds of feet above the ground. Then everything is a blur; he sees something out of the corner of his eye then boom. He looks down and hears crying, he sees people fly past his head, plummeting to the ground Everything is grey and white, as if it’s snowing, then another sound, steel creaking, bending and breaking, and he falls.
When a parent, relative, child, or friend leaves for a trip, do you worry or despair? Do you let them leave, and say your goodbyes, or beg them to stay, and about to cry?
What if you knew beforehand of dangers on their path Would you warn them? Would they believe you? Would you believe them if they were warning you?
Does it cross your mind that they might not come back? Do you ever doubt the safety or security of basic traveling? Or perceive it as a normal part of living?
But dangers can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime They could happen right now, to you and I
It could happen tomorrow, or possibly tonight
It could happen in two weeks or two years
Does this mean we should think twice before we board a plane, boat, or train? Should we decide not to go to work that day?
Since now we know that a random danger could be heading are way
And what if it was one of you who had boarded that plane? Would there be someone to tell you “I told you so!” Would that someone be yourself?
Where is the balance between trust and risk taking? And protection from the life threating? When do we say yes, or no? When do we stop or go? Where do we draw the line? When do we put these things behind? When did it began and when did it end?
Black smoke rises in the sky darkening the lives of the people below. A beautiful bird turned into a weapon. The heavens tumble to the ground bringing nothing but darkness.
Yet, the sun rises again; only this time the sky’s red white and blue.
Attacked at night Although in bright daylight A tragic blow to the heart and jewel Causing rain From both ash and tear Why? Cries echo Now united Bring not revenge But justice True justice With indignation Swarms oof fighters Fly far to engage Over middle deserts Now Justice has prevailed America stands tall Still mourning Changes and shifts For the future In remembrance
It is sunny and clear A normal September day Then suddenly everything changes There will be no more time to play
In a mere second, life goes from normal to disastrous Heads turn as smoke fills the air Everyone is confused, shocked, scared Innocent lives are taken by the fanatics and maniacs
It is a sad day for our country A day that will go down in history A day that nothing could have survived All that was left was a tree
Still today, people are sad and mad Even I feel like crying inside Thinking about all the children without their mom or dad

He walks into his castle, high as it can be. He is a builder of castles for all the lady and lords. In charge of large projects galore.
He soon hears the bugle call his name,
A knight under his service, shocked as he could tell.
Explained a tale of fanatic attack on the biggest castle of them all.
The knight watched as the building tumbling killed many on its steps and more inside of it.
Far away foreigners with a hostile intent laughed with glee and cheerfully planned the next attack.
Another castle quite close was still standing, until another iron bird struck its mighty walls
Many were dead but survivors were still around.
One man, dead under the walls was similar to the attacks, yet so different. That man, that man was brave. He came to the scene tried to help the best he could,
Teased that man, because he was from a foreign land.
He lived the dream and tried to prosper until that fatal day, when his Muslim brothers brought a rain of steel over his corpse.
As he lay dead many tested his loyalty, to find months later he was helping his American brothers rather than laughing gleefully with those who seek hate.
Why demons from the Middle East? Why do you hunt, destroy, attack and relay anti-freedom slurs?
Do you not believe in rights?
These are no men of the book
God please, I plead, let us take from your flock, the wolf, the tiger and the thief.
For we will not harm the innocent, as they did on that beautiful September day.
Dust flew everywhere
ReplyDeleteSirens were going off
Smoke filled the air
Everyone was running away
People were weeping
They were in disbelief
Loved ones were lost
Buildings destroyed
Thousands had died
9/11 was a tragedy
A day that will always be remembered
But also a day that has united America
A bright, sunny morning, a regular day at work, on his platform, hundreds of feet above the ground.

ReplyDeleteForever Asleep
ReplyDeleteGoodnight to the towers
that lay down to sleep
an immense bed of sadness
and ash pillow so deep
Goodnight to the heroes
who went in to stay
to rescue those who may not
get off their job that day
Goodnight to the people
who did nothing wrong
except get to work on time
and stay for too long
Goodnight to Mom’s picture
that hangs on the wall
a portal to heaven
a way to remember
that her heart was bigger
than skyscrapers are tall

A New York Morning,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue skies,
A perfect day,
Until,
Bang!
The skies darken,
A Plane crashes,
Boom!
Another plane.
Sirens howl,
People cry,
Americans die,
The two Towers collapse,
Disbelief and fear in people’s minds,
What happens next?
The answer:
The States unite,
And continue to fight,
Terrorists are hunted,
The deceased are mourned,
And Life goes on.
A Day Like No Other
ReplyDeleteClear crisp blue skies
Unlike no other
Then a crash is heard
Resulting in fire
Screams
Cries
Dreams left behind
Why?
Smoke continues to rise
Sirens are heard from near
Witnesses unable see with their eyes
Bringing fear
Too late for many to stay alive
Praying for the best
Hundreds dive
Turning into a mess
Many risked everything on this day
Through the distress people stumbled
Just like clay
The Towers crumbled
Never Forget 9/11/01
Citadel Lost
